According to reports, Washington Redskins wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested early Saturday morning for felony assault and using an illegal firearm. The reports says they were gun shots involved during an argument inside a Douglas County, Colorado apartment, where Latimer was at. Latimer had reportedly posted a $25,000 bond.
According to sources, eye witnesses heard gun shots inside the apartment, and a suspect was injured with minor injuries. The Douglas County Sheriffs arrested Latimer and booked his at the Douglas County Detention Center.
Latimer's attorney Harvey Steinberg says his client is innocent, and will have his say in court to fight the charges if it were to manifest.
" There's an entire back story to this situation that constitutes one of the most highly provocative situations you can imagine. Please withhold judgment until all facts of what took place that night are known," says Steinberg.
Latimer, 27, was signed by the Redskins during this offseason. He played for the New York Giants for two seasons prior. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2014 and played for them for four years.
