Orlando, Florida - First day of scrimmage to restart the NBA season began today in the bubble in Orlando, Florida's Walt Disney World resorts between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Orlando Magic. The Clippers won 99-90.
Clippers guard Lou Williams was very puzzled on how the game looked since the last time he played back four months ago before the season came to a halt, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
" There were no fans. I am used to seeing and hearing fans cheer and boo. I heard the defense chants, but once I was on the floor, I didn't hear it, I didn't feel it. I didn't see it."
Clippers coach Doc Rivers and Magic coach Steve Clifford both had three rows of socially distanced for their assistants all wearing masks, a new policy mandated by the NBA league offices.
River says he didn't need to stand up to call plays, since it was quiet in there. He is unsure how he be calling plays when the restart season resumes, according to reports.
Both teams had three socially distanced rows for players too. Many players say they are not accustom to the new way of life currently.
"It's obviously different because depending on where you are sitting, it's kind of hard to be as involved in what is going on as you usually when you are sitting right there on court. It's a little different," says Lou Williams.
