According to reports, the Indianapolis Colts and free agent quarterback Philip Rivers agree on a 1-year deal worth $25 million to play for the Colts in 2020 season. He replaces quarterback Jacoby Brissett as the starter for next season, despite the Colts gave Brissett a two-year contract last September.
Rivers, 37, set the Los Angeles Chargers with a franchise best in passing yards with 59,271, along with 397 touchdowns in his 15-years with the team when they were in San Diego.
Rivers struggled last season with the Chargers, he threw for 4,615 yards with 23 touchdowns and 23 turnovers. The Chargers and Rivers mutually agreed to had partied ways after the 2019 season.
The Colts says they will draft a quarterback to learn under Rivers for a season, according to sources.
