Philadelphia Eagles trades QB Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts for 2 draft picks

Breaking news to Chrismckradio, the Philadelphia Eagles traded quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts for a third rounder in the upcoming NFL draft, and a conditional second rounder in the 2022 NFL draft.

According to sources, both teams been trying to finalize a trade for Wentz. The Colts will pick up the balance of Wentz's $128 million extension that includes a $10 million roster bonus on March 19th.

Wentz, 28, had numerous injuries during the past few seasons that plagued his performance on the field. Wentz ranked 34th in completion percentage (57.4%) and first in interceptions with (15). He was benched for the final four games with the Eagles last season.

Wentz was drafted by the Eagles No. 2 overall out of North Dakota State in 2016. Before the injuries, Wentz is the Eagles franchise leader in a single season with (388) completions, and (4,039) passing yards with (33) touchdowns in his first season with Philadelphia.
