New England Patriots head coach Bill Belicheck has decided not to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom from president Donald Trump

Breaking news to Chrismckradio, 6-time NFL Super Bowl winning coach of the New England Patriots Bill Belicheck turns down president Donald Trump's Presidential Medal of Freedom event for this Thursday, citing deep concern about the current state of the country, and saddened over thousands of Trump followers who attacked the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. that sadly led to five deaths.

" One of the most rewarding things in my professional career took place in 2020 when, through the great leadership within our team, conversations about social justice, equality and human rights moved to the forefront and became actions. Continuing those efforts while remaining true to the people, team, and country that I love outweigh the benefit of any individual award. Above all, I'm an American citizen with great reverence for our nation's values, freedom, and democracy," says Belicheck.
