According to multiple sources, the NBA will pay players their full salaries by April 1st, they could start recouping future salaries for cancelled games on April 15, according to a memo that was sent to all teams on Friday.
The NBA suspended the season on March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic and at the time two Utah Jazz players who tested positive for the coronavirus, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.
The league has lost millions of dollars of revenue since the league suspended operations.
Under league rules, force majeure can withhold 1/92.6 of a player's seasonal salary because of either natural disasters, war, pandemic, etc. The reasoning of force majeure was put in place, the league expects a player to play all 82 games, and at least 5 preseason games.
According to reports, NBA owners are expecting major financial losses if the season won't resume.
