NFL league offices suspends Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross for tampering charges with Tom Brady and Sean Payton. The Dolphins will lose its 2023 first-round pick. Ross was fine $1.7 million and will begin his suspension up to Oct. 17, according to reports.
According to multiple reports, Ross is forbidden to enter the Dolphins' facility or represent the team at any team event or functions. He also cannot be in any league meetings before the annual meeting in 2023.

The league began its probe of Ross and the Dolphins six months ago of tampering. The league found evidence Ross and his vice-chairman/limited partner Bruce Beal on three different occasions from 2019-2022 tampering with then head coach Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
According to sources, the NFL found no evidence of Ross telling his then head coach Brian Flores to lose games on purpose during 2019 season to get top picks. Ross allegedly paid Flores $100,000 for each game lost that season. Ross denies the accusations.
The NFL found evidence that Ross told his team president and CEO Tom Garfinkel that the team should take priority over winning games to get good top draft picks in the draft.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was disappointed in Ross's behavior. He says the league findings are, "unprecedented."
