Tokyo, Japan - The president of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach has postpone the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan until next summer of 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, who will be hosting the Olympics, agreed with the decision by the IOC.
According to sources, Abe believes the coronavirus pandemic will end next year.
The coronavirus has killed thousands of people from around the world already. The virus is spreading fast, and more than 42,000 people in the United States have been infected. At least 515 people have died from the virus, according to the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
