TIm Tebow expected to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars
According to multiple reports, the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign former Heisman Trophy winner, and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow as a tight-end. Tebow will be reuniting with head coach Urban Meyer who coached him at Florida.
Tebow, 33, will sign a 1-year contract later during the week, according to sources. Tebow has never played tight-end in his football career, he reportedly is looking forward to playing a new position.
Tebow hasn't played any football since 2015 after he was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles during preseason. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos 25th overall in 2010. He was 7-4 as a starter with the Broncos in 2011. Tebow helped the Broncos defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a wild-card game on a 80-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas in overtime. The following week he had a bad game against the New England Patriots throwing for only 132 yards in the 45-10 loss. He only completed 9 of 26 passes in the loss.
Tebow left the NFL, and went on to pursue a baseball career. The New York Mets signed him to a minor league deal back on August of 2016 and he played 4 seasons before calling it quits.
Tebow will be playing for his hometown when he signs with the Jaguars.
