Mrs. Ford been the owner of the team since the death of her husband William Clay Ford Sr., back in 2014. She has been with the team in management ever since her late husband bought the franchise back in 1963.
Ford's daughter Ford Hamp will be addressing the media today to discuss the transition, according to reports. She went to Twitter to thank her mother for her hard work and years of service for the Lions.
" My mother inspired all of us since taking on leadership of the Lions six years ago. She has been a tireless leader to our family, our team and our community. Her smart decisions have given me a solid foundation to take the team forward," says Ford Hamp.
The Ford's retained general manager Bob Quinn, and head coach Matt Patricia for 1 more season, according to reports.
